3 Days Big Five Safari

Our 3-day Meru National Park safari is necessary if you want to lose yourself in unimaginable natural beauty. The park elegantly sits 350km from Nairobi in an area best described as rugged, captivating, and utterly unspoiled.

One of the fundamental intention of choosing to stay in Elsa’s Kopje Boutique Safari Lodge in Meru National Park could be because while in this Spa game lodge you may spot Kenya’s most impressive birds? In Elsa’s Kopje Boutique Safari Lodge in Meru has over 300 recorded bird species swooping over its roof. All that copiously appendages unashamedly romantic and beautifully styled, Elsa’s Kopje Boutique Safari Lodge is sculpted into Mughwango Hill, above the site of George Adamson’s original camp where he raised and released orphan lions, long before conservation became fashionable. All the guides are Bronze or Silver level Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association certified and know the territory of the Meru lions and leopards. Also are in a habitat so diverse, they know the medicinal properties of the unusual plants, are keen birders, and can show you the home of the tiny naked mole rat! Rhino Sanctuary in the National Park incorporates an 84 SQ KM rhino sanctuary, home to over 70 rhino, both black and white. The size of the sanctuary ensures that finding the rhino is still a game driving challenge!

Our safari guides are knowledgeable, professional, and most importantly, punctual. Expect your assigned guide to be at the agreed pick-up point at the arranged time. The rest, like we love to say, is fun and laughs. On arrival, the guide checks you into the hotel and leaves you to have lunch and an hour’s rest. That is the perfect time for an evening game drive. The evening game drive introduces you to the pomp and beauty of the Meru National Park. You briefly explore the park’s lush grasslands and the many animals scattered around it. Look out for the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, and, if you’re lucky, pythons. You end your game drive with an optional epic sundowner.
The Meru National Park is wild and breathtakingly beautiful. Nothing brings this beauty to life better than a breakfast taken on your room’s balcony at sunrise. You are at the heart of the park an hour later, ready for what is to many, the adventure of a lifetime. Look out for the wildlife. There are at least 40 different species in the park, from the Big 5 to giraffes, elands, reedbucks, hartebeests, buffaloes, cheetahs, zebras, bush pigs, waterbucks, and puff udders. There’s also a colorfulvibrancy of birds to match, over 427 species to be specific, and an ambience so pristine it’s almost dreamlike. The first leg of your game drive ends with a scenic lunch taken at the heart of the park. Then you continue with the afternoon game drive after lunch. The afternoon game drive introduces you to the magical, almost surreal side of the Meru National Park. Thanks to its lush jungle, coursing rivers, thriving swamps, grasslands, and scattered acacias, it’s lovely. Allow yourself a moment to take it all in and when you’re done picking your jaws from the floor, take a picture or ten to freeze the moment. Evening game drives are the soiree of the jungle. As the temperatures begin to fall, the predators emerge from hiding, the herbivores are jolted from inactivity, and the birds are at their liveliest. The show gets even better as the sun begins to set. It’s pure bliss!
This is the last day at Meru National Park, and you can start the day with early breakfast and then continue with the game drive en-route outside the park. After, the guide will transfer you to Nairobi.
